JAMES WADE 7 – 4 Robert Thornton

James Wade moved closer to sealing a McCoy’s Premier League play-off place with a well-earned victory against Robert Thornton in Dublin on Thursday evening.

Wade moved onto 16 points in the table as he claimed a terrific triumph in front of a 10,000-strong crowd at the O2.

The 2009 winner grabbed a crucial break of throw after the first eight legs had been shared and closed out the match to keep up the pressure on league leader Michael van Gerwen. more

James Wade moved a step closer to reaching the McCoy’s Premier League play-offs with a brilliant victory against Adrian Lewis in Sheffield.

However, ‘The Machine’ was denied the chance to move clear at the top of the table when he was edged out in his second match of the evening by Michael van Gerwen.

Wade swept past Lewis with a 104 average in a 7-2 win, which included five 180s from ‘The Machine’, who moved onto 14 points with the win.

His defeat against van Gerwen left him in second place, two points behind the Dutchman but the 2009 champion is happy with his season so far. more

James Wade is preparing to play two matches on night ten of the McCoy’s Premier League season and is targeting a double victory to boost his play-off hopes.

‘The Machine’, who won the prestigious tournament in 2009, is in a healthy position in the league table – tied at the top with Michael van Gerwen and Raymond van Barneveld.

Wade will face van Gerwen, who he defeated in Glasgow a fortnight ago, after his match against Adrian Lewis, who he also beat in their first fixture. more

James Wade continued his fine run of form in the McCoy’s Premier League as he claimed a 7-3 win against Gary Anderson, who was eliminated from the tournament on Thursday evening.

‘The Machine’ earned his fifth win of the season at The Brighton Centre, sealing it with a stylish 120 finish.

And the 2009 winner, who hit seven doubles out of eight attempts, admitted that he has his eyes firmly on the taking the title again. more

JAMES WADE 7 – 4 Michael van Gerwen

James Wade once again displayed his finishing prowess in the McCoy’s Premier League as he fought off Michael van Gerwen in Glasgow.

The 2009 winner hit three hundred-plus finishes to claim a 7-4 victory against his Dutch opponent.

The win ties the pair on ten points in the play-off places along with Phil Taylor and Raymond van Barneveld.  more

JAMES WADE 6 – 6 Raymond van Barneveld

James Wade and Raymond van Barneveld shared a draw in Cardiff in the McCoy’s Premier League on Thursday.

Wade took out two finishes of over 100, while van Barneveld hit five 180s in a match that had plenty of highlights but the pair could not be separated.

The result sees both players remain inside the play-off places but Wade, who also hit six darts towards a nine-dart attempt, felt he should have climbed to the second place slot, which is occupied by his opponent. more

JAMES WADE 7 – 1 Robert Thornton

James Wade produced a sensational performance to defeat Robert Thornton in Nottingham on Thursday evening.

‘The Machine’ briefly went top of the table with the 7-1 triumph as he posted an average of 105.73 – his third consecutive average of over 100.

Wade, the PDC’s second most successful player, also took out two terrific 121 finishes en route to victory. more

JAMES WADE 6 – 6 Phil Taylor

James Wade averaged over 100 for the second week running in the McCoy’s Premier League, as he earned a draw against world number one Phil Taylor in Exeter on Thursday night.

The seven-time major winner took out six combination finishes to take a point, moving his tally to five for the season.

Wade, who won the tournament in 2009, looked like he might suffer his second defeat of his 2012 campaign when he trailed Taylor 6-4 but fought back to grab a draw. more

Sky Sports darts expert Rod Harrington believes that James Wade is nearing his best form thanks to a new found motivation.

Harrington, speaking exclusively to modusdarts.tv, said that he has noticed a change in the way ‘The Machine’ is approaching the game since the start of the new McCoy’s Premier League season began.  more
