James Wade is aiming to finish the McCoy’s Premier League Darts season with a flourish when he bids to be crowned as champion for the second time.

The 2009 winner has admitted his relief at finishing in the play-off places after a shaky end to his league campaign but is confident of bringing his best game to Thursday’s finals night at the O2 in London.

Wade ended a run of three straight defeats by taking a point off ‘The Power’, and it proved to be enough to fend off his challengers on the final night of league action.

‘The Machine’ has now reached the semi-finals, which take place at London’s O2 next week, six times in the last seven years and the 2009 champion is hoping to take glory again. more
