Sky Sports darts expert Rod Harrington believes that James Wade is nearing his best form thanks to a new found motivation.

Harrington, speaking exclusively to modusdarts.tv, said that he has noticed a change in the way ‘The Machine’ is approaching the game since the start of the new McCoy’s Premier League season began.

“I’ve been very impressed with James so far,” said Harrington, twice the winner of the World Matchplay.

“Especially last week in his win against Adrian Lewis. He looked so motivated and played fantastically.

“He even said in his interview that the new format of the tournament has woken him up.

“Nobody wants to be relegated and he has approached it the right way.

“We are all aware of his unfortunate troubles and it is sad that a good young man like James has had to go through what he has.

“But he seems like he has got his head on the game. I desperately want to see him back at his best because when he is, there is only Phil Taylor that’s better.

“I don’t think his best form is far away. If he continues to play like he did against Adrian he will be well clear of relegation.

“James is one of my four picks to reach the play-offs.”

Wade, who has picked up four points in his opening three matches, faces Taylor in Exeter on Thursday.
